Connect from the Queria CLI
Explore, query, and export Queria datasets with the dedicated CLI — no ATTACH setup required
The Queria CLI is the dedicated command-line tool (the queria command) for Queria. There is no ATTACH setup: referencing <dataset>.<schema>.<table> in your SQL automatically connects to the dataset. It is the quickest way to go from exploration to a query to a Parquet / CSV export in a single command.
Try it now
With uv installed, you can run it without installing anything:
uvx queria search population
uvx queria sql "
SELECT DISTINCT area_name, value AS population
FROM e_stat.ssds.a_pref_population
WHERE item_name = 'A1101_総人口' AND year = 2024 AND area_name != '全国'
ORDER BY value DESC LIMIT 10
"
Use --out to write results to a file. The extension determines the format:
uvx queria sql "SELECT * FROM zipcode.main.mart_zipcode" --out zipcodes.parquet
How it differs from the other connection methods
- Unlike the DuckDB CLI or Python, there is no connection URL to copy and no
ATTACHto run queria list/search/schema/columnslet you explore before writing SQL, all from the terminal- It is DuckDB under the hood, so the SQL dialect and cross-dataset JOINs work exactly the same
