Introduction
An overview of Queria and its main features
Queria is a service that publishes data as a database, not as files or an API. You can work with open data straight from the browser, Python, a BI tool or an AI agent using SQL — no download, no conversion.
What you can do
- Search and browse datasets: find datasets by keyword or with filters → Explore datasets
- Inspect table details: column information, statistical profiling, and lineage → View table details
- Run SQL queries: DuckDB WASM runs inside your browser, so queries execute without sending data to a server
- Connect from external tools: access the same data from the DuckDB CLI or Python → Connection guide
Try it first
- Open the dataset list
- Click “e-Stat 統計データ” (e-Stat statistics)
- Select the table
a_pref_population(population and households by prefecture) - Check the data in the “Preview” tab. Edit the SQL editor and run with Cmd+Enter. You can aggregate metrics such as total population and in-migration by prefecture and fiscal year
